At Opti Eyewear, “How you see matters” guides everything we do. Our commitment extends beyond routine eye exams, reaching into specialised care and community impact right here in Diepkloof.

Adapting to Low Vision & Colour Deficiency

Living with low vision or colour deficiency presents unique challenges. We equip our patients with practical solutions:

Opti Eyewear assists patient with low vision by handing them a hand-held magnifier.

Low Vision: For reduced vision not correctable by standard glasses, hand-held magnifiers are often key. We teach effective use to make daily tasks like reading manageable again.

Colour Vision Deficiency: Distinguishing colours can be tough. We explore aids like colour overlays or polarised lenses to enhance contrast, and teach vital environmental cues for better navigation.

Our goal is to provide tools and strategies for a clearer, more adaptable everyday life.

Our “How You See Matters” Community Impact

Our commitment extends into direct community action:

  • Empowering Matriculants: Through our CSI campaign, we recently provided spectacles and hand-held magnifiers to three matriculants. We’re proud to support their vital academic journey.
  • Supporting Young Learners: We assisted a primary school learner in understanding and managing their colour vision deficiency. Early intervention makes a significant difference.
  • Holistic Care for Complex Cases: For a learner with exophthalmos, we provided dry-eye eyedrops and eyeshields. Crucially, we facilitated intervention with other medical professionals to explore underlying genetic factors, demonstrating our dedication to comprehensive well-being.

At Opti Eyewear, we’re not just about prescriptions; we’re about empowering lives through better vision and dedicated care.
