The Police Academy Basketball Club from Botswana won the 2017 Women’s Basketball Tournament on 13 August. The team beat the Lakers from Zimbabwe 42 – 34 in the final of the inaugural Women’s Basket Ball Tournament.

The tournament took place from 11 – 13 August 2017 at the Wembley Stadium in Johannesburg. Teams from Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe took part in the invitational that was organised by the Johannesburg Basketball Association. Opti Eyewear Optometrist was proud to sponsor this event whose aim is to promote women’s participation in sport.
