Holiday-term-break is upon us and digital screens and phone use is on the rise. Although an easier substitute to spending time together with our children, these devices can pose several risks;

Prolonged phone & screen time can lead to digital eye strain, causing discomfort, blurred vision, and headaches.

Exposure to blue light from screens can interfere with sleep patterns, making it harder for children to fall asleep.

Increased screen time can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, leading to obesity and associated health issues.

Excessive screen use is linked to anxiety, depression, and social isolation in children.

Over-reliance on screens for communication can hinder face-to-face interaction skills.

High screen time may impact attention spans and learning abilities, affecting academic performance.

It’s essential for parents and guardians to monitor and regulate screen use to eliminate and reduce these risks. The wellbeing of our children should be a priority.
