
The speed and manner in which you react to the following eye emergencies will contribute to the healing outcome.
A. Foreign object in the eye
- Do not rub the eye
- Blink repeatedly while holding the upper eyelid
- Rinse the eye with pure water if object is still in the eye
- Consult your Optometrist immediately
B. Chemical spillage
- Do not rub the eye
- Rinse the eye out with pure water
- Avoid bandaging the eye
- Consult your Optometrist immediately
C. Trauma / direct blow to the eye
- Do not rub the eye
- Apply cold compresses without any further pressure to the eye
- Consult your Optometrist immediately especially when there is a change in your vision, pain, bleeding or a bruise.
